Lately I can’t get enough of this band! I think it’s about time for Violent Ruler to get some real recognition. I know that a lot of people (myself included) sometimes get turned off by bands such as Necrophagist and Viraemia for being so nerdy tech metal and maybe just generally a bit goofy, but Violent Ruler brings all of the insane thrash riffage without any hesitation to steadily break it down and jam. The music is dirty, thrashy enough, and still pleasing to the ears with harmonic ease – perfect.
Swelling the Morgue is 6 songs clocking in right under 20 minutes. These Reno kids are getting read to tour the west coast in March so check out their myspace and make sure to catch them out your way.
