Chris McCaughan can do no wrong in my book, at least when it comes to creating incredibly infectious, thought provoking songs. Whether it be with The Lawrence Arms, or with his new side project Sundowner. Either way, I can’t get his songs out of my head!
Chris created Sundowner’s 2007 release Four One Five Two from songs he had written while touring with The Lawrence Arms. He began playing the songs in random coffee shops across the country before he would go play a show with The Lawrence Arms. After awhile, he officially called the project Sundowner.
Chris recorded his new songs at Atlas Studios, bringing along fellow Lawrence Arms band mate Neil Hennessy on Bass and Jenny Choi who helped out with singing/cello duties. If I say so myself, the result is an amazing album. Of course, don’t take my word for it, stream a couple songs below for yourself!
