Picked up this record about a month ago, and have been pleasantly surprised. I say that because I had initially heard Sleep’s Dopesmoker album and wasn’t too thrilled, so it was a let down especially with all the hype surrounding this band after a song of theirs showing up in the movie Gummo
The Holy Mountain on the other hand, is a sludge, doom metal masterpiece. My co-worker actually put it best, “if you like Black Sabbath but wish it was half as fast, then you’ll like Sleep”, or something along those lines.
