If you have ever wanted to know what doom sounds like, you should listen to Grizzly Bear.
It is an experience not unlike drowning but without the side effect of actually dying.
The song structure of this band is not unlike some of the other fugueists of contemporary rock such as Built to Spill, and Beirut. These bands all offer you far more than just a simple song. They give you a richness and depth that it almost seems as though you get two tracks for the listen of one.
Tracks such as “Knife”, “On a Neck On a Spit”, and “Deep Sea Diver” are some of the best examples of what this group has to offer.
Check out the video to “Knife” and feel free to leave a comment with your thoughts.
